Polymaths such as Galileo Galilei and Leonardo da Vinci spent important parts of their lives in these cities. In his keynote speech, Professor Giampaolo Mistura from Padova University will reveal the importance of metrology and science in this region.

Professor Giampaolo Mistura is in charge of the advanced laboratory for physics students and is the president of the commission for the physics department colloquia at Padova University. During his lecture, he will take the audience through the history of science and measurement, with particular attention to the Italian and Padova University’s contributions, from Galileo’s time to 2012.
